Christian was a 2 letterman athlete at Wilkes Central High School. He went on to play 4 years of Division 1 baseball at North Carolina Central University.

 

While there he broke school records for single-season home runs and career home runs. He also tied the single-season doubles record, was NCCU student-athlete of the month and was Capital One Baseball Academic All-District First Team. Christian is the only college player to hit two home runs over the Green Monster at Fenway in an official game. He received the MVP award from the Boston Red Sox for the HBCU Legacy Event.

 

After college Christian played 4 years of Independent Professional Baseball throughout the country. He was invited by the Red Sox to several preseason workouts. During those 4 years, he received personal instruction from MLB Hall of Famers Jim Rice and Luis Tiant, 4 time All-Star Rafael Palmero, 4 time Gold Glove winner Brandon Phillips, NFL Superbowl Champion Dean Hamel, and professional sports trainer Mike 'Freak Strength' Guadango.
